Health Risk Assessment Of Dietary Exposure To Cadmium Rice In Yunnan Province
Abstract
Objective To assess the health risks caused by the heavy metal cadmium in rice in Yunnan Province. Methods In 2014, 1950 rice samples were collected from all over Yunnan Province. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used to detect the cadmium content in rice. The single-factor pollution index method was used to detect cadmium in rice. Excessive evaluation and non-parametric probability method were used to assess the dietary risk of cadmium in rice. Results: The exceedance rate of cadmium in rice in Yunnan Province was 2.5%, and the cadmium content detected in rice samples was lower than my country’s food safety and hygiene standards (0.2 mg/kg); however, the risk entropy (HQ) of cadmium in rice was high at 97.5% and 99.5% The positions are all greater than 1. Conclusion Residents in some areas of Yunnan Province may be at risk of excessive accumulation of cadmium through rice consumption. Relevant departments should pay attention to and conduct long-term follow-up and detection of cadmium contamination in rice in Yunnan Province.
