Abstract

lea protein (lateembryogenesisabundantprotein) refers to a type of protein that accumulates in large quantities in seeds in the late embryogenesis period. It is widely present in higher plants and is regulated by developmental stages, abscisic acid (ABA) and dehydration signals. Among them, the third group of lea proteins Closely related to crop stress tolerance. A new group 3 lea protein gene, talea3, was cloned from wheat by RTPCR. The protein is mainly localized in the cytoplasm. The expression of talea3 is induced by high salt, low temperature and the exogenous hormone aba. The expression level in roots is generally higher than that in leaves, and the expression pattern of this gene is different under different stresses. In a pair of homonuclear wheat varieties tested, the expression of this gene was positively correlated with drought tolerance. Overexpression of talea3 in yeast improves the growth status of yeast under ion and osmotic stress or increases the survival rate.
