Effects Of Whey Protein On Serum Albumin And Related Inflammatory Factors In Patients With Emergency Sepsis Combined With Hypoalbuminemia

Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of whey protein enteral nutrition on emergency sepsis combined with hypoalbuminemia and its impact on the levels of protein and inflammatory indicators in the patient’s serum. Methods 92 emergency patients with sepsis and hypoalbuminemia were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 46 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given conventional basic treatment, and the patients in the observation group were given enteral nutrition treatment with whey protein on this basis. The clinical efficacy, serum protein levels, inflammatory indicators and adverse reactions of the two groups of patients on the 28th day of treatment were compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 82.61%, which was significantly higher than the 63.04% in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of albumin, prealbumin, and total protein in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05); the levels of inflammatory indicators D-dimer, C-reactive protein, and procalcitonin expression levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Control group (P<0.05); no obvious adverse reactions occurred during the treatment process. Conclusion Whey protein has a significant clinical effect on patients with emergency sepsis combined with hypoalbuminemia and can significantly inhibit the inflammatory response.
