Abstract

? Aquaporin is an important membrane functional protein in plants. It not only mediates the efficient transport of water between plant tissues, but also participates in the transmembrane transport of other substances in the plant. It also plays important roles in plant photosynthesis, growth and development, immune response, and signal transduction. Also plays an important role in physiological processes. This article mainly reviews the latest research progress in the structural characteristics and classification of plant aquaporins, various physiological functions, and the regulation of their activity at the transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels, and discusses how to systematically and comprehensively carry out aquaporins’ involvement in plant growth and development processes.
