Abstract

Objective To compare the sensitivity of prealbumin (PAB) and albumin (ALB) in evaluating the degree of liver function damage. Methods OLYMUSAU640 fully automatic biochemical analyzer was used to detect PAB and ALB in the serum of 157 cases of acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, liver cancer and 30 controls. Results Compared with the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in the ALB acute hepatitis group. There was a statistically significant difference in the test results of the chronic hepatitis group (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in cirrhosis, severe hepatitis, and primary hepatitis (P<0.01). ); Compared with the control group, serum PAB was significantly lower in various liver disease groups, with the most significant decrease in PAB in patients with cirrhosis and severe hepatitis. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01), and its magnitude was consistent with the severity of liver disease. Conclusion PAB is a more sensitive indicator than ALB in evaluating liver dysfunction, and changes in PAB more sensitively reflect early damage to liver function.   For further details regarding this article and its research, please do not hesitate to contact our team for assistance.
