Objective To establish a simple reflux-assisted digestion atomic fluorescence method for the determination of heavy metals arsenic and mercury in rice. Methods A simple reflux-assisted wet digestion method was used to digest the samples, and a dual-channel atomic fluorescence photometer was used to determine the As and Hg heavy metal contents in rice. Results Under the optimal experimental conditions, the correlation coefficients of the working curves of As and Hg elements were 0.9992 and 0.9996 respectively, the detection limits were 0.012 and 0.014 ¦Ìg/L respectively, and the relative standard deviations (RSD%, n=7) were 1.4 respectively. % and 0.5%, the standard recovery rates were 87%~105% and 83~104% respectively. Conclusion This method is a fast, efficient and simple method for determining the As and Hg heavy metal content in rice.
