Study On The Absorption And Accumulation Of Germanium By Spirulina Platensis At Two Culture Temperatures

Abstract
Spirulina platensis was cultured in a medium with a germanium (Ge) concentration of 5-15 mg/L from January to March 1995, and the algal cells, proteins, and lipids at two culture temperatures (25¡ãC and 30¡ãC) were studied. The amount of germanium combined with germanium and carbohydrates was studied to explore the mechanism of temperature affecting the absorption and accumulation of germanium by Spirulina. The results show that at both culture temperatures, Spirulina platensis can absorb and accumulate a certain amount of germanium (22.44¨C52.13 ¦Ìg/g) and evenly combine it into proteins, lipids and carbohydrates; the amount of germanium bound to algal cells is At low temperature (25¡ãC), the concentration of added germanium increases, but at high temperature (30¡ãC), the relationship with the concentration of added germanium is not obvious; the amount of bound germanium in proteins, lipids and carbohydrates at two culture temperatures All increase with the concentration of added germanium, but the amount of combined germanium at high temperature (30¡ãC) is higher than the corresponding values at low temperature (25¡ãC); among the three macromolecular substances at low temperature (25¡ãC) The binding rate of germanium is relatively stable (about 48%), and at high temperatures (30¡ãC) it increases significantly (37.2%¨C72.0%) as the concentration of added error increases. According to the experimental results, it is speculated that low temperature (25¡ãC) mainly affects the adsorption of germanium by Spirulina, while high temperature (30¡ãC) affects the binding of germanium to intracellular macromolecules.
