How Soy Fat And Protein Accumulate

Abstract

Three soybean varieties (lines) with different protein contents were used to study the accumulation patterns of fat and protein in the kernels from the bulging (R5) stage to the mature stage. The results show that the peak period of relative fat content accumulation in each variety occurs 30 days after the grain drumming period. The accumulation methods are slightly different between varieties. The fat accumulation ability of low-protein content varieties (lines) is very low in the early stage; the protein accumulation patterns among varieties are different from each other. The accumulation peaks are obviously different; the accumulation patterns of the absolute content of fat and protein in single grains of the same variety are similar; the accumulation of absolute fat and protein content in single grains in high protein content varieties is mainly affected by the grain weight change curve, while the low protein content varieties are also affected by the relative contents of the two.
