The Scavenging Effect Of Selenium-Rich Forms Biotransformed By Spirulina Platensis On Free Radicals

Abstract
Abstract Purpose: To comparatively study and evaluate the in vitro free radical scavenging activity of the main selenium-rich active forms produced by biotransformation of selenium-rich spirulina (SeSP). Methods: SeSP was prepared using selenium-enriched culture technology, and selenium total protein (SeSPª²TP), selenium phycobiliprotein complex (SeSPª²PB), selenium phycocyanin (SeSPª²PC), and selenium were fractionated and purified from SeSP. Selenium polysaccharide ( SeSPª²PS) and nano red selenium (Nanoª²Se); inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPª²MS) to determine selenium content; superoxide anion (¡¤O2) and hydroxyl radical (¡¤OH) chemiluminescence system to detect free radical scavenging rate, Reed-Muench algorithm calculates the half effective concentration (EC50). Results: The scavenging effects of SeSPª²TP, SeSPª²PB and SeSPª²PC on free radicals were significantly improved in the same form without selenium (P£¼0ª±05), and the EC on scavenging effects of ¡¤O2 and ¡¤OH was significantly improved. 50 significantly reduced (P <0ª±05), SeSPª²PB among SeSP has the highest free radical scavenging activity in vitro, among which SeSPª²PC may play a major role; the mass fraction of selenium in SeSPª²PS is low, and the enhancing effect of selenium on free radical scavenging is not yet known. It is clear; NanoSe transformed from microalgae also has strong free radical scavenging activity. Conclusion: The enhanced effect on free radical scavenging of the selenium-rich active form biotransformed by SeSP is related to the incorporation of active selenium elements. The selenium-rich protein converted by algae has an obvious synergistic effect. Biotransformation of nano-selenium as a new type of active Selenium speciation deserves further study.
