Abstract

Four wild emmer wheat strains imported from Israel were hybridized and backcrossed with common wheat. From the 128 lines selected from the F5, BC1F4, and BC2F3 generations whose external morphological traits have been basically stable, 17 lines were selected whose thousand-grain weight was more than 5 g higher than that of the corresponding common wheat parents (Yangmai 5 and Yangmai 158). , there are 12 lines whose grain protein content is more than 4% higher than that of common wheat parents, among which the thousand-kernel weight and grain protein content of 5 lines are significantly higher than that of common wheat. It shows that wild emmer wheat can be used to improve the thousand-kernel weight and grain protein content of common wheat cultivars, and the simultaneous improvement of both can be achieved.
